Janelle Versnick is a GIS Analyst at Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and Adjunct Instructor for the MS-GIS program at Johns Hopkins University. She has 12 years of GIS experience which includes cartography, data interoperability and automation, programming, and data analysis. Janelle is experienced in SQL, Python, JavaScript, and other programming languages. She has a strong passion for creative applications of GIS.

Creating a Musical Atlas
The musical atlas is an interactive web map that allows the user to click on a world country and play a musical composition created from specific demographic and geographic data unique to that country. This presentation will cover an overview of the musical atlas, data sources, various python code written to create the music, and the development of the JavaScript web application.
